From SRI to Italian manufacturing

“The United States has a pressing need for industrial reshoring and for rethinking the entire value chain,” Agrò explains in an interview with WIRED, during a break in his trip to Italy to find companies to bring to Silicon Valley.
“Artificial intelligence needs to leave the cloud and find a job in the real world. That means investing in manufacturing, autonomous vehicles, humanoid robots and industrial robots. Apart from major players such as Tesla,” Agrò says, “there are too few factories to build these robots, and production capacity is lacking. Italy is Europe’s second-largest manufacturing country and has the expertise to become the supplier of choice in this new era of artificial intelligence.”
